I just wanted to say a big thank you for making my birthday really great last night! You looked after us really well and I had a great time, my friends all agreed too! I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to write to you, but I wanted to say how much everyone enjoyed the 90th birthday lunch held for my mother at the restaurant on 14th November. The food was delicious. You will be pleased to know that people thought the sea bass, in particular, was exquisite. I really enjoyed the unusual spiced sweet potato vegetarian meal as did the other "veggie", and I know that others were delighted with both their main course and the mouth-watering desserts. Thank you also for the prompt and friendly service. The food was hot and excellently presented, everyone was served quickly, and it was a really lovely occasion. Many of our guests hadn't eaten at Doughty's before. I'm sure those who live locally will do so now. Very many thanks indeed. We recently enjoyed a superb meal at Doughtys. I had been recommended by so many people and I can genuinely say the atmosphere and delicious food more than lived up to expectation. The selection was great, surroundings lovely and the staff friendly and welcoming - what more can you ask?! What a find - this restaurant is great. The food is fantastic and the welcome and service superb. It is great to find a place with personality and it is really unique, instead of chains all the time. I met Adrian and Victoria on my last visit and they always make sure you are really looked after. Go and treat yourself! Doughtys Brasserie was recommended by a friend. The atmosphere is lovely, the service excellent and the food very very good. We've only been once but have every intention of going back again. SGC I am a regular at Doughtys, the food is out of this world and the service is fantastic. The restaurant holds a great atmosphere, every meal i have ever had there has been perfect. I have been to Doughty's numerous of times and have always been more than impressed by the food, service and general atmosphere. I have been with children, in a couple and also in a large group. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they cater for all needs. The food is outstanding and the service from the staff is always excellent. If you have not been, you are definately missing out! Whilst back in the UK on holiday in July, I was fortunate enough to enjoy a delicious fish pie for lunch, at Doughty's so I couldn't resist going back for dinner a few days later with friends,and we were certainly not disappointed! The "best prawn cocktail" which I chose for my entree more than lived up to its claim and the liver served with bubble and squeak was fantastic. Every one of my party was thrilled with their choice. The service was friendly but totally professional and overall it was outstanding value for money. I can't recommend Doughty's highly enough and look forward to my next visit to Hitchin. The place was really buzzing and we had a great evening. Certainly number one on my list of places to eat... Really super food and a lovely atmosphere. Hitchin is lucky to have such a fabulous restaurant. complain about a meal and even more rarely send a note to complement a
place...I'm going to make an exception for you. The meal we had was superb.
You made a simple meal that was absolutely perfect. It was hot, fresh,

The menu was extremely good and presented in an excellent manner, your staff were very attentive and provided an efficient service which reflected your professionalism and application. Hi Victoria, Doughtys pulled off a truely exceptional surprise evening for my husbands 40th last night. They catered for 40 people providing everyone with a delicious three course meal and even were able to cater so that everyone had a choice. I cannot recommend them highly enough, the staff were attentive, the food was hot, delicious and the wine was great. Thank you so much! Georgina. Excellent food, pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. A great evening out and good lunchtime menu too. We visited Doughtys recently after hearing good reports about this restaurant. There is an excellent choice of food and wines. Before you eat you can sit and relax in a very pleasant lounge area. It was so good that we revisted the following week and the food and service were still excellent. It's good to find a restaurant in Hitchin that does something other than pizza and pasta! I've visited Doughtys twice now and am very impressed with the cleanliness and the "oh, so delicious food" at a reasonable price. It's certainly top of my list for eating out in Hitchin. Faith I have been to Doughty's twice for lunch and once for an evening meal and I really feel this is now my favourite local restaurant. The decor is classy and comfortable, the service is very high and the food is excellent and offers such a wide variety. I am looking forward to my next visit and am now telling all my friends about it! Lynn Vallance Doughty's has been my favourite local restaurant for a while. On Sunday they surpassed all my expectations when I had my mothers 60th birthday party there. We had the whole top floor to ourselves and the 35 guests were treated to absolutely 1st class service by dedicated waitresses. Adrian served up a fantastic hot buffet and even the children were catered for. The decor is stylish and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Victoria and Adrian made my mum's day! Thank you! Victoria and Adrian (and Robbie), I can't thank you enough for all the effort and thought you put into making my daughters birthday party so wonderful! The patience you had with 9 girls showing them how to make and cook pasta and chocolate truffles.... And the little touches of the chefs hats, aprons and balloon for Tanya.
